What does your home need?
For heat loss, assess the roof, walls and floor separating heated rooms from outside or unheated spaces. Unwanted noise needs a separate acoustic assessment.

Plan junctions and the sequence of work together. External wall insulation can affect roof edges and window sills. Describe later renovation plans so that a newly finished area does not need to be reopened unnecessarily.
Insulation grants in Belgium: check the property’s region
The property’s location determines the regional grant scheme, regardless of the language used. Eligibility then depends on the applicant, building, work and application timing.
Flanders
Since 1 March 2026, owner-occupiers in income categories 1 and 2 no longer qualify for Mijn VerbouwPremie for insulation work. Categories 3 and 4 and certain other applicant types have separate conditions. Eligibility depends on the applicant, building, application date and technical requirements; a roof or wall project does not automatically qualify.
Wallonia
The temporary Habitation 2025-2026 scheme retains its 30 September 2026 deadline. Measures announced on 28 September allow some projects started before 14 February 2025 to continue under earlier schemes until 30 September 2027, subject to their specific conditions. This is not an automatic extension for a new application.
Identify the scheme and required evidence for your case before relying on a deadline. Roofing and roof insulation have an exception to the prior housing audit under the temporary scheme. An order placed before a deadline alone does not establish entitlement.
Brussels
On 28 September 2026, no RENOLUTION grant application can be submitted for a final invoice dated 2025 or 2026 because no decision has been made for those years. Earlier RENOLUTION rates do not establish funding for new work. Confirm availability, the application procedure and your eligibility before deducting a grant from the project budget.
Prepare a useful request
Provide the postcode, intended work, property type and known existing construction. Mention damp, finishes to keep and future changes. Exact measurements are not required for the initial request. For apartments, identify shared areas and any approvals already obtained. Tell the contractor which language you prefer for the technical discussion; submitting in English does not guarantee an English-speaking installer.
